Remembering and Thanking Our Veterans Today November 11

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the organizer, who gave us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag." – Father Dennis Edward O’Brien, USMC

Thank you to all that served and are still serving.

Comments Please

It is very quiet on this blog. I know people view the blog, but no comments. Questions? We love questions, inquires, or suggestions.  I posted today about historical bottles and saw that I last posted about Lalique glass in May. Gasp. It hasn't been that long has it?

Yesterday, we took a walk through ebay on past ebay sales for American Brilliant Cut Glass. Sales are few.
Why do you think sales are few? It isn't just cut glass. It seems to be all types of glass. Maybe if we could shabby chic the glass it would sell?

Your House In The 1920's

A friend of ours bought an arts and crafts home in Payette Idaho. Two story with a full basement. It does need some design touches and paint, but wow, what a house. I was looking for design ideas for him and found this site. It shows kitchens, dining rooms, stairways, windows, doors, lamps etc. http://www.antiquehome.org/Inside-your-house/1920s/

Abandoned

After seeing the abandoned apartment from 1942 in Paris I thought, well, there has to be more of them, right? Couldn't find any on line. But I did find a site http://www.abandonedonline.net/
Abandoned is a site that shows historic sites abandoned, endangered, active and demolished. This is a site you could spend an hour or two on.
